Raina and Rachel treated Viper and me to TGI Friday’s on President’s Day. I had the pecan encrusted chicken salad (or some name like that). It was heavenly. I haven’t eaten anything that good in, oh, quite some time. The chicken itself was okay at best. However the rest of the salad was ambrosial. I think this is because it contained foods from all the major food groups: the Bleu Cheese food group, the Mandarin Orange food group, the Dried Cranberry food group, the Nut food group (of which pecans are a superb example), and of course the Lettuce and Balsamic Vinegar food group. Until yesterday only the first two actually merited their own food groups, but I think I may give dried cranberries it’s own food group some day. They actually taste good, unlike raisins.

Rachel is letting me borrow her mp3 player today. Viper noted that before too long I will have all the electronics from that apartment :-) I think I could maybe get used to a PDA and now I am afraid that I also might like an mp3 player. I was hoping that I wouldn’t like the PDA so I would have an excuse not to get one. Liking it is very bad since I have no money to spend on it. I am going to put the PDA to the acid test today. I am using it to study for my Kichee’ test. If it helps significantly then I will sink even deeper in desire (read despair).

On the other hand, they say that desiring something is better than actually having it. Perhaps I will stay in a state of perpetual enjoyment by desiring electronic gadgets, but never getting them. The more I think about it, the more I like the sound of that. Less work that way. As long as I have friends who will let me borrow stuff when I need/want it.
