The time has come for me to eat crow, and allow me to say that it is sweet. I said a few days ago that I wished that someone would make system-wide mouse gestures. Had I done even the simplest google search, I would have found Cocoa Gestures by bitart Software. Cocoa Gestures allows you to record mouse gestures and assign menu commands to them. Cocoa Gestures is free, but I believe that if you buy the whole Cocoa Suites package, you can have a gesture do more than just menu commands. Run scripts for example. If I had my own computer running OS X, I think I would fork over the money. What could be better than mouse gestures for your whole system? Now all I have to do is decide what gestures I want to use in what programs. Unfortunately, with Cocoa Gestures you can’t write a macro to extend the selection and cut like in emacs. That would be ideal. Perhaps you can with Cocoa Suites, or else I will talk with the developer. In the meantime, happy computing.
