Well, it’s finally official. I gave her the ring last night, and it fit, and was the right width, and everything!

I guess the time has come to spill the beans. For those of you who didn’t know, I am now engaged to Rachel Leigh Weatherford from Plano Texas (near Dallas).

The truth is that I have been pretty much engaged for quite some time now. I met her family over Christmas, after which we started ring shopping. Between her indecisiveness, and a few other delays, it has taken until now to get her ring.

I gave her the ring last Friday, but horror of horrors, it was the wrong size. We had ordered a size nine, and it came in as a size 9 but, because of a misunderstanding between the salesmen, they resized the ring to 6 + 3/4. This was of course a lot of unnecessary work for them and a pain for us. Things seem to be going better now though–my ring may be in tomorrow (it may have actually been in today).

We are working on getting invitations sent out in the next few weeks. For those of you who can’t wait to know–we are getting married on June 23, in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. The reception will be the following day in Woodland, Utah.

Now all I have to do is survive finals and a new job, finish my thesis, and plan a wedding… After that it’s easy right ;-)
