Bună dimineaţa!

I just got back from a trip to Romania, as part of a cross-cultural Sacrament Program exchange. In the Orthodox Christian tradition, it is prohibited to throw away a Sacrament Program until it is so worn out that the important information can’t be read any more. There are, as you might expect, many complicated rules around when this point has been reached, but I won’t go into those here (since I barely understand them). But it was very interesting to see all the uses they put Sacrament Programs to. Because the country is quite old, it has been accumulating Sacrament Programs for years. They are used to prop up squeaky table legs, soak up spills, line pet cages, cover broken windows, act as coasters in restaurants, etc. When you buy wine, the year of the Sacrament Program coaster is invariably paired with the year of the wine. Thanks to one of my traveling companions’ predilection for old Burgundies I was able to see Sacrament Programs over 100 years old!
