You might think that sacrament programs would make great wrappings for fireworks, but you would be wrong. When they burn, they do in fact create a variety of scintillating colors which is, of course, highly desirable for fireworks. However, due to the special energy absorbing nature of sacrament programs, when used for fireworks casings, they tend to absorb the explosion leading to very small, albeit colorful, fireworks shows. There have also been reports of finding scraps of sacrament programs left over from fireworks shows that then release all the energy when picked up causing serious injury, or even death. Please, when making your own fireworks, do not use old sacrament programs as the casing. Safety First!
