You know Emett and Morris and Hadley and Palmer,
Craig, Rotz, and Croal, and Mc Kee, Bird and Hooper
But do you recall,
The most famous calling of all?

Ivan, the pompous ward clerk,
Had a very shiny coat.
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it smote¹.

All of the other callings,
Used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Ivan,
Play in any calling games.

Then one foggy Sunday Eve,
Emett came to say,
“Ivan with your coat so bright,
Won’t you write emails tonight?”

Then how the members loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
“Ivan the pompous ward clerk,
You’ll go down in ward hist’ry!”
